20 Days To Go!

Less than three weeks now! I'm getting very anxious to move. I'd like to start packing but I can't because I need to use most of my stuff! I'll have to start carting home boxes from work. So if you see a girl walking down University or Queen with boxes... thats me!

My MacBook is on its way with FedEx from somewhere in the states. Should reach NB by Tuesday :) I'm going to have fun playing with my new gadgets... my iPod is already in NB. I guess they ship things as they become available. I've also ordered their newly released wireless "mighty mouse" with bluetooth technology so I don't have to waste one of my USB ports :) It has 360 degree scroll ball, right and left buttons disguised under a sleek non-moveable part design, as well as two programable side buttons. Hehe. And of course it will match all my other stuff.

I just got back from volunteering at the humane society. Due to a lack of money and the impending two rents looming I couldn't take a cab. I was going to bike there this morning. I got my bike out from the basement last night and put air in the tires to be all set for the morning. As I was leaving and about to swing my leg over I checked the brakes... Oops. The back brakes did not work, and the wire seemed to have been pulled in an awkward position. So I had to walk. Which wasn't that bad, other than I was about a half hour late. It took about 45 minutes to walk there, and another 45 minutes back home. I got my exercise for the day LOL I had been thinking about a little jog but I doubt I'll have to motivation for it. Besides I've been so busy with work the past couple weeks (54 hours and 53 hours)I'm sure I've lost what little progress I've made in fitness.

I heard that my parents might consider coming up for a visit next weekend. Which would be very nice... not to mention they could bring all my gadgets ;) Hehe. I have Saturday off (how'd that happen?) and only volunteer in the morning on Sunday. I'm hoping they will make the trip. It would be nice to see some familiar faces! I'm sick of living with this so-called roomate we like to call Skid.

27 days to go!

Its true. Only 27 days and counting! :D I've been working my butt off, working 54 hours last week and 52 this coming week. Hopefully that will help pay for the stuff on my lists :P

I ordered my laptop and iPod on Thursday! They should arrive end of this week or next week in NB. Which isn't too much of a wait really til I go home :) I also picked up a wireless router, and some extra glasses ($5 for 18 glasses!). So those can be checked off the list.

I'm so glad that I'm excited to move. I was worried I'd be upset about it, but I think it will be great to go to a new place, take some fun courses, and get back into the equestrian scene. Yes, NSAC has an intercollegiate equestrian team!! :D From what I know Acadia and Dalhousie also have teams. They have a show once a semester or so. Should be fun :) Not to mention theres a race track about two blocks from my apartment. Hehe. This could be distracting!

MacBook!

After a lot of window shopping and browsing of the web I've decided to get a MacBook. These things are so cool! So many awesome features, I'm sure I'll forget a lot but here we go:

- wont crash
- no viruses
- 6 hour battery life
- can put windows xp on it if you so desire and then you can switch back and forth between the 2 operating systems
- nothing that can brake on the outside of the computer. Very sleek.
- no latches, closes by magnets
- remote
- wireless
- faster and smoother on less RAM and hardrive than any PC
- awesome programs with the mac operating system, too much stuff to list
- the cd/dvd drive doesn't have a thing that comes out when you want to put the cd/dvd in, its just a slot you slide it in
- glossy screen, great color
- free iPod nano and $100 off for being a student
- duo processor giving your computer two brains to speed things up even more
- only 5.2 pounds
- built in webcam and microphone
- blue tooth capabilities (for wireless gadgets so you don't need a usb port
- power chord can be put in either way (theres no upside down) and unlike other laptops has a saftey feature where if you trip over the chord it just pops out without damage. So your laptop won't become airborne or wrench the inside parts
- etc, etc.

Thus, I have been won over. The reviews have all been positive. Only minor cons that were noted were that it can get quite warm, and the glossy screen can get reflective if used outdoors in the sun.

I'm very excited :) I probably won't get it for a couple weeks as I need just that bit more extra in cash... and I'm getting it sent to NB. That way I can save $60 in tax (one good thing about HST!). But I won't be able to play with my stuff til a later date... that will be the difficult part!
